Located at the historic homestead of Captain Jonathan Warner in Haydenville, the Fenn family is proud to re-christen the old barns, vegetable garden, hayfield and apple orchard as a small sustainable family farm looking to grow a little bit of everything you can here, This is also the headquarters of our 30 year business, Local Power LLC, which helps municipalities implement community wide energy transitions. So we're always here.

Our story
We live and work on the farm, and feed ourselves from it, selling the extra. You could call it a Slow Farm. The four of us have been farming for two decades, which is to say, growing food for ourselves on an urban rooftop in Oakland, the hillside of nearby Canyon, seaside dairyland Marin, and the wild redwoods of Mendocino. Buying our first farm in Haydenville, Massachusetts in 2018, our family has spent the past few years getting the place in shape for cattle and fowl, pruning and planting new fruit trees and berry bushes on the higher parts of our wetland farm. Once a large dairy farm, this old place is now devoted mostly to plants, but with some other stuff on a seasonal basis. The massive meadows that make up this historic farm are still rural and pristine, though only ten minutes outside Northampton via Florence.
Apples, Berries
Apples of many varieties, peaches, pears, blueberries, currants, and gooseberries lead the list of over a hundred fruit trees and bushes. We have some of the best cider apples you are going to find, and continue to plant fruits of many kinds and varieties. for maximum diversity of foods.
